I can't fault the hotel at all, the only thing I would say is out of season sometimes things are closed on certain nights it would be good if these were posted somewhere in the lobbies. You can get premium drunks in Hemmingways and this has quite a nice atmosphere too. The only thing I will say about food is that we never managed to find anywhere that did snacks through the day except the sports bar, I'm sure there was one on the beach but we didn't find it and the other bars don't offer snacks so if you fancy something outside of the buffets this was difficult, again that may be the time of year though.

We ordered room service one night, it arrived really quickly and was a lovely pizza! I can't comment much on entertainment, it took us a while to adjust to Dominican time so we didn't see too much but the live music in the lobbies was pleasant to listen to. There are loads of pools to relax at, the closest to us was the Adult only pool and as this also had the more comfortable sun beds this is where we spent our time but the entertainment seems to happen at the others and so if you have kids or want to take part in the aerobics etc go to the larger ones, there were always beds free when we walked by, I love the beach, sure there was a lot of sea weed, but they can;t help the stormy weather, I fully expected this before we went as had seen the reviews, it is not something that can be helped though and didn't stop us from swimming.

A few times during the holidays there were guys walking along and collecting it so they are trying to keep it as clear as they can but come on, it's a naturally occurring event, and its not like the seaweed back home that;s all slimey so it really didn't bother me that much.

The waves were quite big at times but that just added to the fun too! There are bars along the beach so you can still grab a drink. There were a few people trying to sell stuff and take pictures with monkeys etc but to be honest they didn't in anyway harass people, I think spain etc is ten times worse for that!

This was our first trip to the Caribbean and we really enjoyed it although did miss being able to wander around outside of the resort, we were advised not to so we didn't. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained by the gardeners.

The complex is huge and there is so much to do including a spa, sports and activities by the pool daily. The animation team were enthusiastic, energetic and great fun. The evening shows were also great however the casino was closed for renovation which did not bother us too much. All the staff members we spoke to from the lobby bartenders, to the pool bar staff or waiters genuinely seemed to love their jobs and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Most of the staff we encountered did not speak much English, but were usually always so patient and tried their best to understand our queries or orders and were very apologetic if they did not.

I believe this demonstrates the high standards grand palladium have and the great customer service skills of their staff.

There was, however, a variety of other foods to choose from so not the worst scenario! The evening specialty restaurants were great and the Argentinian definitely stood out for me- the steak here was amazing! Bamboo was also thoroughly enjoyable. Whilst it was not a major issue, I did find the frequent surveys in the restaurants towards the end of our meals annoying by the 4th time of doing it.

The staff giving them out would often just place the tablet on our table and expect us to complete it which was rather annoying, but we would see other guests at tables not being asked to do them? We stayed in the palace in a junior suite with a garden view and the room was a great size, with the mini bar being topped up daily and the room was kept immaculate by the housekeeper.

The room temperature was perfect as it was generally cool most of the time and the air con worked fine. The WiFi was also very good across most of the complex. Overall, the holiday was great, and we would definitely come back. We had staff walking in unannounced and uninvited into our room at different times during the day, even with the Do Not Disturb on the front door. My husband was ill and in bed when someone came into the room just for an inspection.

And a maid walk into our room at 11pm just as I was getting out of the shower unclothed, again with the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and without knocking. The food was so-so at the buffets, but great in the restaurants. The Atlantic Ocean view is not blue like the Caribbean view, and the 2 tons of seaweed that came in the shore line each day was not fun to swim in nor walk in on the beach. It was not at all what I had anticipated. The staff is very polite. We would not recommend this to our friends and family as a resort to visit in the future.

Lets start with the a la carte restaurants , ok the Indian, if you do not like Indian cuisine then this is for you, however if you do like me this food no way resembles any Indian cuisine I have ever consumed!

The Italian, well if you like Dolmio sauce with lots of added sugar then this is for you, certainly not to my taste an liking!! The only a la carte restaurants I would rate is the Japanese - good night with decent food and the Argentinean again good food but by no means excellent!! If you are looking forward to good food then this is NOT the place to come to!!

The hotel for me is not OK when management onsite here are quite ignorant, you are lucky if they make eye contact or even more honoured if they present you with a smile, you are on holiday so the least you expect is a friendly, smiling face greeting you.. Sellers in the hotel trying to scam or sell you something are a nightmare - they constantly hassle you and even more surprisingly allowed to hassle you within the hotel grounds when you are trying to relax or read a book, they are constantly in your face!!

Don't even go there for the travel club reps trying to see you timeshares its diabolical and this is why I would never return to this hotel for this very reason - ok I get it people need to make a living however I am on holiday to get away from the stresses and strains of everyday life so cannot be doing with this day in day out!! The drinks are a huge disappointment - its all the sweet drinks that all taste the same they present to you, no real cocktails from coconuts, pineapples like you see in most modern up to date premium resorts , just iced, sweet drinks which make you feel sick.

Be aware of the building and construction disruption going on at the hotel with drilling and lorries starting with their deliveries at 5 in the morning, so much for a lie in, despite being on holiday!!

I certainly will not be returning to this hotel especially when you pay 8k for 4 people you expect and deserve better, disappointed.
