Honestly I think people expect WAY too much. This resort is clean, well kept, and all staff we dealt with were friendly. If you passed someone they looked you right in the eye and greeted you pleasantly and genuinely. We stayed in a Sun Club room and it was perfect. The housekeeping staff kept it very clean and the fridge was stocked daily. The air conditioner worked wonderfully and the room was blissfully cool.

The hot water was HOT and the water pressure was great. AND the room was very quiet. We never heard a thing and slept soundly every night. The pools were clean, the beach was beautiful, and the drinks were delicious! Yes, sometimes you have to wait a bit for a drink. I never waited more than 2 minutes for a drink. The food was probably the best food I've had at an all-inclusive.

The breakfast buffet I wasn't a huge fan of, but there was always something. I usually settled for a muffin, some fruit, coffee and juice. Oh, and the coffee - it was HOT and tasted good. Any other resort I've gone to the coffee has been lukewarm. I was very happy with the coffee. The lunch and dinner at the buffet were great - great pizza, chicken and beef were also delicious which is rare on an island.

And the restaurants - WOW. We ate at each restaurant at least once and I loved every meal. I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat, and am already thinking of booking a family scuba diving trip to this resort. Pay no attention to the negative reviews.

This is a great resort!!!! Reviews are so mixed for this hotel. I knew we weren't booking a luxury hotel, so I was not disappointed. Our room on the third floor of the Royal Tower was spacious and comfortable, looking over the top of thatch roofs to the lagoon and ocean.

It was kept clean and the minibar was restocked daily. We never touched the AC control and were very comfortable. Walking the stairs was good exercise while we avoided waiting for a very hot elevator. We spent most of our time at the beach and in the pools. A few of us snorkeled regularly. Bringing your own gear is a good hint - no limit on time or schedule. Even though we brought water shoes, we did not find it necessary to use them regularly. The kids loved the water.

The beach does drop off pretty quickly, so we were pretty insistent that the little ones wear their water wings constantly. Drinks were readily available. On trips to other islands I had taken an insulated cup. I wish I had remembered this time, too. With all the choices for food, no one in our group went hungry, even our picky eaters. The choices were diverse and plentiful, remembering this is not a luxury hotel. We were a large group and eating together was a priority.

For the first few days we had no problems in the main dining area. The special dinners outside had no provisions for large groups, which we understood - we just ate in the "cafeteria.

Not sure what changed the situation - they had been dealing with our large group for several days. We tried most of the specialty restaurants, usually eating early because of the young children. Most were very accommodating and the food might have been a step up from the general offering. The nine year old enjoyed taking advantage of the activities on the pool deck.

They have a large Connect 4 game, a game which she thoroughly enjoys. We played two games; there was no one else anywhere around, but we were limited to the two games. Sometimes the rules were just plain silly - I would think seeing people playing and enjoying would attract other players. I found the staff in general to be helpful and delightful, always ready with a pleasant greeting and a smile.

A thank you was always answered with an acknowledgment. Their facility with language is more than enviable, switching between English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento sp?

Pleasing thirteen individuals is a daunting task, but I think all of us went home feeling good about our vacation. Sunshine and blue water are definite crowd pleasers, throw in family - all is good! I have traveled a lot, but in the last years I haven't had any reason to write a review because all things I read about, were correct! The hotel advertises itself as a 4 stars! All facilities in the entire hotel are old and dated, including bars, but at club area, they do not have a bar..!

They have something mobile, with no fridge, so everything you can drink is not cold! It's impossible to drink a real cocktail, all of them are made from extremely sweet juice with little alcohol. You will be in Curacao and if you would like a Curacao drink, go in Willemstadt, otherwise you'll drink a All the room in Club area are 20m form the main road and during night it's very very hard to sleep!

More the very old air conditioning when starts you'll wake up in a second, many times per night! Better turn it off before sleeping! At the main restaurant you'll find plenty of food and very diverse, but with very few exception, the taste is Regarding cleanliness in this area, everything you touch is..

At Oceana and Grill you cannot reserve a table Very few are trained to work in this environment! Not a hotel I can recommend to be short! But, they have Italian prosecco of good quality, the beach and water are wonderful! Lot's of fish in the water , calm enough to swim, and you can have for free paddle boats!

The dive center have good staff, boats and equipment! Different dive places, healthy corals, nice wreck, amazing night dive with UV lights and red filter on the dive mask so we've seen a lot of fluorescent life! If all you need is all inclusive, with mediocre food, but unlimited and drinks the same unlimited with poor accommodation and tired staff, go for it, if not, avoid it! The showers were moldy and there was no water pressure. The resort was fabulous and the staff very courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend this destination for anyone wanting an 'aquatic' adventure.
