For me, Woodbine represented a place where my horses would race once in a while and where I began gambling once they introduced slots to the Ontario residents.

Although I had previously gambled at Casino Rama and elsewhere, I thought it would be fabulous to have a much closer location for convenience. Initially, I used to have to argue with people who were coming into the hi-limits area and watching myself and other players play because it felt like we were being stalked I witnessed many arguments with patrons and staff and amongst patrons.

I had previously won a great deal but with gambling I would be kidding myself to say that I hadn't lost a great deal as well. I had always been told I had to give my full name to the slot attendants who were paying me when I won a jackpot so I did that too and became very familiar with the person who was in charge of this hi-limit area and the people who served drinks and the slot attendants at various times of day or even during the middle of the night.

About 3 years ago the hi-limit area again went into some renovations causing me to not be able to play the machines I had been regularly feeding which was inconvenient to say the least. At no time did anyone inform me that by not playing with a players card that I was about to be considered undesirable to Woodbine as a hi-limits player.

The hi-limit room was finally built and the first time I walked in there to see where my money had gone I was told I needed a card, so I produced my card to them but since I chose not to use my card when I played a machine which is my choice to make ultimately, I was denied access to the hi-limit room by the girl who sat at the desk and informed my I had to have 25, players points to get access to this room.

Well I had maybe points and to get 25, would mean thousands upon thousands of dollars had to be spent to get me back into an area that I had always been in. No casino should force its players to use their players card or set rules that should their players decide not to play their players cards that these patron's would now not be entitled to enter a part of that Casino where they had always had access before.

I have never seen an area that I was denied access to in any other Casino anywhere in Canada, in the U. Just here at Woodbine Slots and Racetrack. If I win a large enough jackpot that evening I am somehow qualified or good enough to enter your private hi-limits area but the rest of the time, its off limits.

There's a nice warm and fuzzy feeling courtesy of Woodbine Slots. Naturally, I was very upset because I had fought hard to get into this area where I had always played before and not until I had lots of Woodbine's money was I ever offered the opportunity to go back inside. Then I remembered that when I was previously denied access to this new area that on occasion, I would stoop so low to actually drag a slot attendant who had paid me previously to the desk of the hi-limit room to tell them who I was but that was very insulting that I should have to go this route to get into this area.

Instead, I opted to stay as far away from Woodbine Slots and Racetrack as possible and wherever I go - whether Casino Rama, Fallsview, or Georgian Downs, the slot attendants all know me by my face and my name and more important by my level of play. Other Casino's show me the respect I deserve as a patron of that establishment and they do not tell me there are area's of their establishment that are off limits to me as a patron. I thought foolish me that a casino was in business to make as much money as they can and when I saw that the Ontario Casino's had lost a great deal of money in a report on TV just last week, I privately hoped that most of this loss fell on the staff and the foolish Management heads that make the decisions at Woodbine Slots and Racetrack as they deserved not to see hi-rollers come to their establishment any longer due to the manner in which they Woodbine has decided to treat those of us who put them in a position where they could now keep us out of the area's we have spent so much money.

Recently I had to meet someone over at this facility and what I noticed is that I didn't recognize anyone in the casino, staff were gone and all the regular hi-rollers had moved to better casino's where they were given respect like at Casino Rama or Fallsview. Generally we want to have the right to play our players cards if we choose to and if we do not choose to play those cards, then obviously we are not making anything in our cash back accounts which is ultimately up to our discretion not the OLG or Woodbine Slot's Management.

We love taking our pre teen daughters to watch the horse racing!!! It's cheap betting for us and fun to watch the horses race for everyone! They don't offer much variety of decent food and what they do offer is very expensive. Your better off eating before or after you go there. More tables with sun shades would be better as many fight over them. Can't wait for warm weather to arrive so we can go back to watch live racing. Own or manage this property?
