Foo Managers Troy and Jeffrey insulted, humiliated, discriminated, and disrespected us at Barona. I have lived in Vegas and spent time in Atlantic City and I have seen many casinos. Oops, we can't find your location
We also enjoyed a free birthday dinner at the Italian Cucina Wow - so much food Stellar service. We also dined at the food court area as well as at Plaza Grill. The golf course is a bit dry given the end of the summer - but its still a nice place to play. We had fun at other places in the area during our stay. Staff is so nice. This is just based on my experience but I really love going here.
We literally get everything comped. For example, they would give out free ice cream and hot dogs. They would also hand out free shirts and hats during special events. But my favorite thing that they get out free is CASH. They would have the party people crew come out and someone from the crew would randomly pick players and you would play a game. Some games you are guaranteed with win some cash.
While others game you either win or don't. I really like the fact that they just give you the opportunity to win money without having to bet anything!!! Food is always great here. I really like the new food court and everything!!! If there was one thing I would change would be some of the food at the buffet. Would like to have more options and have the food taste a little bit better. But again I understand that it is a buffet. By far the looses slots in San Diego.
I only been here 3 times and won 2 out of the 3. Service is great and they greet you with a smile. Don't forget to tip your waitresses. Every employee here is so nice and here to assist and make your time here enjoyable. I love this place. So happy with all the casinos here surrounding San Diego. But Barona is my favorite. One highlight is the awesome buffet here. With no discounts it is expensive. But the food in this buffet is first class. It's a doozy getting there, but once you're there, it's beautiful.
Very huge casino with a beautiful lake. Came with my co-workers to try out the buffet. The staff was very friendly and luckily the buffet was kind of empty. I love seafood, so that's where I started. I tried the seafood paella, oysters, catfish nuggets. I was walking along and then I saw that they had fried tilapia. But I already had so much food,I never went to get it. I tried the ribs, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, clam chowder, and had cherry coke. The oysters were okay, but the paella I was not happy about.
The catfish nuggets were dry. The clam chowder was good and the macaroni and cheese was actually very good. The corn bread was good, but the ribs were a little dry. I asked for chocolate ice cream and the lady assured me it was chocolate ice cream. But when I went to eat out, it was rocky road. I hate nuts in my food!! That was actually the second time that I felt something was messed up. In the beginning,I asked for black tea and instead of the other lady saying we're out of that, but these are available.
She just said no and stared at me. That good ol' customer service. But overall, the food was okay, but I'll continue to go to Pala and Valley View. Getting a Barona card was easy and they give you a pin with your name on it! That makes you feel very special! Playing the slots was super fun and I love how many big screen games they have. I really don't like that they don't have a machine to exchange your voucher into money, but there are people walking around with an ice cream cart to give you cash.
All in all, I'd come back for the games. Supposidly it has the Best in years well for my first experience was the worst!!! Needed a larger table because we had some friends coming and the manager said that they couldn't accommodate untill the rest if my party arrived or ee could get a smaller table and then move to a larger table once the rest of the people arrived.
The person seating us didn't say anything just sat us down and walked away. The server Mario was much more accommodating and friendly I think they should have Mario as the manager because the guy that was there really meeds customer appreciation training!!
After all of this the rest of my party decided not to come since they have this kind of rules. The manager stated that the restaurant could get filled up and they wouldn't be able to accommodate new customer coming in, you be the judge!! When you write reviews, they give you a "direct" phone number to someone who is constantly out of the office, doesn't return messages Elizabeth manager in Casino V. I was given the run around for about a week and a half, only to have another run in with an employee who was mad that the review was even written Giving a number that leads to more disgruntled employees to be able to handle the situation?
When I pointed that out in messages here on Yelp, I was completely ignored and never contacted. The hotel "made it right" by giving me two buffets that were honestly impossible to get ahold of - lots of "we don't see that here, let me go look for someone" In the end, they gave me a "free" room still not a clean bathroom, have pics but holy crap it's just beating a dead horse and obviously nothing was addressed or changed If you're still wondering, Barona pretends to handle things here openly as a comment and then ignores you once it's taken to private messages.
Kinda like the outside of your establishment. This casino is hands down the best one in SD. Loosest slots, best buffet 7yrs in a row and outstanding staff! Every time I go there I have a great time whether I win or lose: The buffet is hands down the best of all the casinos in SD and rightfully so since they win the award every year!
They have other restaurants as well that are top notch. They have a golf course, garden area to get married, luxurious hotel and all the gambling you could want. When I was there She is very good at what she does and they need more employees like her! Hey even have carts to ride back and forth with elves and Santa along the way to the gambling floor. I wanted to like Barona, I really did but after my most recent experience, I don't think I will be coming back.
It's sad enough to lose money at the casino but to have played poker in their poker room for around 6 hours, you'd think I'd have some comps from playing, but no.
It's not even a lot but it's shady as hell to cheat a customer from their comps. See pic below I've only been to Barona a handful of times but nothing about Barona convinces me to return. They don't even have those player's card kiosks to check your points and check out current promotions. You have to ask someone to scan your card to check for you.
The smoke in Barona is really bad. My eyes start to burn because of the smoke after like 30 minutes. I know they're working on expanding a non-smoking section but at least invest in some ventilation. Oh, and to not have a drinks station like most casinos, it can get annoying trying to flag down someone pushing around the carts because they move around so much that you have no idea where they are.
At least be somewhat generous to the people basically giving you money to operate your casino. From now on, I'm sticking to Sycuan. Their staff is so much friendlier especially the poker dealers and at least I get my comps from playing poker.
Yes room service is our fav! Foo Managers Troy and Jeffrey insulted, humiliated, discriminated, and disrespected us at Barona. We were regulars at Barona and because of this treatment we will no longer step foot in the casino. Our friends have also learned of their atrocious behavior and no longer visits. We see this as an extreme lack of respect and discrimination in the casino. We are insulted by this treatment in what is touted as an acclaimed destination. No one deserves this kind of treatment, especially from the claimed "best casino.
This proves false because of the degrading way your managers have spoken to us. This is true since we definitely do not ever want this experience again. He also said, "Eight thousand people on average walk through the casino doors every day We ask that Rick Salinas give us a call if you really miss us and want us back in Barona. I like Barona better than most of the casinos that I have to drive my dad to.
Their renovation of the food court is probably the smartest thing they've improved since seating was hard to come by before. I would say their slots are loose since if you spend more you win more and possibly lose more The staff is everywhere which is great!
I dropped my wallet and realized after 10 minutes. Within 15 they had it back at a security desk. Whatever cash I had was taken out and accounted for I just needed to go take my slip to the cashier and they returned my cash. Very smooth and painless! Impressed with how fast it got turned in lol all I had to do was ask a staff member where to go get it I really enjoy coming to Barona every six months or so for an evening.
It's the closest we are going to get to a Casino that's comparable to one in Vegas, in San Diego. There is a great vibe and excellent restaurants.
This was my first time having a room and staying overnight. The rooms are spacious and the landscapes surrounding the resort are eye catching, from sun up to sun down at least. The resort also has good dining selections from the buffet, to other sit down restaurants, to fast food restaurants in the food court. The casino itself is just like many I've stepped foot into. Lots of slots and lots of ringing.
Unless there's a architectural design that pops out like most themed casinos on the Vegas strip then not much will stand out. What does however is the staff who were awesome. It was my birthday November 11th and the staff completely caught me off guard at a slot, put all attention on me with a birthday song and gave me a chocolate cake. I arrived to Barona around 9pm, stuffed my face then slept around Some might be thinking when does the relaxing part come in, well the beds were very comfortable so the small amount of sleep I did get was very relaxing and there was nothing that interrupted.
Fast paced but relaxing. Looking forward to spending a few nights rather than a one nighter next time. Had lots of fun. Tons of parking and the staff is nice and helpful!
Bet you didn't know that? The lines are ridiculously long. Best time to come is before 2pm. If you come after that, expect for a long wait. Last Wednesday I showed up around 5: Nope, not waiting to eat around my bedtime. Don't forget to stop by the sweet Dessert station This Casino has super friendly dealers at the tables.
I enjoyed playing for hours and hours with them. But don't play the slots. It appears that the slots are tuned not to match for give you bonuses. Enjoy the rooms but the slots are boring to play. The drive to Barona is scenic but it can be dangerous at night time.
I guess this is the only downside for this place. The staff are very nice and the buffet was awesome with plenty of selections. The casino floor actually come up to your slot machine if you get picked for the drawing.
This makes it a fun experience. I absolutely love this place. I have lived in Vegas and spent time in Atlantic City and I have seen many casinos. The Barona casino is with out a doubt my favorite casino ever.
All of the places to eat are great. Staff is very friendly. They wave at you from guard shack upon entering property. More staff greet you in lobby. Lobby is very pretty. Barona is by far the most clean casino around. Most casinos have cigarette ashes all over the slot machines. Drink servers are usually always close by as well as the floor cashiers.
